Welcome to the Founder's Note
On the road to centralise common questions for founders from VC POV
You might wonder how you got here.
(I took the freedom to add my beloved and amazing founders, already to the subscription list)
Well, as most of you know I have been on vacation for the last couple of weeks with my girlfriend to unplug, rewind, reflect and recharge.
During one of our day trips to Capri, I realized that I receive more frequently adjacent questions from the founders I am working with - on several topics ranging from book & podcast recommendations to legal & structural questions (e.g. Warranties, boards, hiring). Considering that I believe more people have thought about the same questions, we can all profit from it, when sharing it and creating a “community information flow”. This strengthened and originated my idea of creating this newsletter, which should be seen as a knowledge library.
What can you expect?
Generic content such as book & podcast recommendations with targeted content for founders around several topics such as hiring, product development, GTM, sales, and more…but also more specified and tailored content around questions such as ESOPs, cap table, fundraising, hiring, etc. (feel free to reach out if you want to know about something specific)
Lastly, here and there is also the latest and greatest funding news from the #inventurefamily to keep you up to date on that part as well (PS: there is some news to come, stay tuned 🦄)
This newsletter will be shared once a week on Monday mornings to kick off the week with food for thought.
In the meanwhile, stay tuned and do not mind sharing with relevant founder friends!
Closing with a podcast recommendation
An excellent welcome email would not be an excellent welcome email if I would not have a recommendation on my hand 😎
Hands down, I am a religious listener to #20vc and Harry Stebbings. Recently, he probably has had one of the most insightful product development strategy interviews with the one and only Des Traynor (Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer of Intercom). This is a phenomenal discussion on product strategy, branding, and marketing. 🎙️
Food for thought - Can you sustain your “first mover” advantage? And is being first always the route to success? Or will the customer use products because it solves their problems?
See you next time 🦄
